Year End Impact Story...

We love being able to share with you just a few of the hundreds of stories of impact that are taking place within Northern Maryland FCA. This one definitely hits close to home. Normally, I would not share a story about my own child, but after reading a couple college essays she wrote, both my wife and I, independently, felt God prompting us with the same message - “you need to share this story.” There is an important jump that every young person that grows up in the church needs to make - the leap from their faith being through their parents to their own.

Paige, our oldest child, having an analytical mind, values understanding both sides of issues. For this reason, we were not surprised when she read us an essay about going through a time of questioning her faith, and ultimately coming to realize that it is in fact real. After hearing these words, we tried to play it cool, but were crying inside with joy. The quote below was from one of the essays:

“After questioning the Christian beliefs, I found my true identity. I was a Christian. Not because my parents are, but because I believe in Jesus Christ. The questioning didn’t push me further from the religion I was born into, but brought me closer.”
